#SongOfTheMonth- April Edition

Everyone has been talking about this, in fact I think this is proper #BreakingTheInternet. Kendrick Lamar’s ‘HUMBLE’. Kendrick has been stealing our hearts for many years but this time, he released a three minute manifesto of His Majesty. He was right to work with Plus and  Mike WiLL-Made-It (the unsung hero of the trap age, if there has to be one) and together they have  made one of the catchiest, most propulsive beats that I’ve heard in a really, really long time. Kendrick’s own performance, though from a technical standpoint isn’t as impressive as it’s been in the past, but it is still ultra-catchy.

He also dares to slide in a critique of America’s obsession with Photoshop-perfect aesthetics, making clear his preference for all-natural looks, particularly when it comes to black women. I mean who here doesn’t like their women all natural? We all do. And that he said it, made us realize it more. There’s a line going around “Maybe Kendrick should have said this earlier, for people to understand it”

All in all, Humble is beyond amazing, actually the whole album is. I don’t know what hole you have been in if you have not listened to it. Just check it out here. Thanks for reading, let me know what you would like me to review next on the comment section
